EDMONTON JOURNAL - NOVEMBER 6, 2010 |
I had very good results. My walking was back to normal, no heavy legs; fatigue was very bad for me. There are other noticeable improvements.
When I left the hospital in India, the doctor gave me a full report. It included that I am to get an ultrasound every three, six and nine months after I come home.
I have gone to my regular neurologist for my yearly checkup. I have been told, by him, that I cannot have an ultrasound done. There was no reason given except that nobody would do it.
I asked to be referred to a different doctor and my ultrasound request was rejected once again.
He also continued to tell me that there would be no one at the University hospital that would do it for me, but kindly recommended that he would refer me to have it done in British Columbia for a mere $3,000.
I have been paying for Alberta health care for my entire life. Why can’t I get an ultrasound done here?
