BARRIE - The local CCSVI Foundation has three surgeries booked for local MS patients. Steve Garvie created the foundation after having the angioplasty-type surgery more than a year ago.
He said it changed his life, and now he wants to help others with MS. After having a roll and stroll in April, three MS patients are ready to have their surgeries performed in Rhode Island. Two women from Parry Sound and a Barrie man will have the procedure done June 15.

The CCSVI Foundation is also hosting an information session at Bear Creek Secondary School Thursday, May 26 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Surgeon Dr. Sandy McDonald, who treated Garvie and five other patients at Barrie's Royal Victoria Hospital last year, will answer questions.

A second information night is planned in Aurora June 2.
