The Cedar Hill Recreation Center was filled with MS patients and their caregivers with an overflow crowd of about 250 present. They came to learn about CCSVI and to listen to the testimonies of five MS patients who were recently treated for CCSVI by having their jugular veins unblocked and normal drainage of blood from the brain restored to normal.
The meeting was organized by Sandra Birrell who herself recently enjoyed relief from many of her MS symptoms by having having the blood flow through her jugular veins restored to normal.
Dr. Bill Code, MD, FRCPC, an MS patient himself opened the meeting with an overview of CCSVI and its role in helping MS patients. Dr. Code stressed that restoring normal blood flow does not "cure" MS. Dr. Code publishes a number books on MS. http://www.drbillcode.com/index.html
The patients present were all middle aged and were treated in various locations around the world during mostly in July of this year. They all received benefit from the treatment. Some more some less but they all benefited.
Silvia went to India, had a great time and was superbly looked after there both medically and personally. Betty was treated at Katowice by Dr. Simka's team on July 13. She had to wire transfer full monies up front.
Valerie, a mother of an 11 year old mentioned how she can again take an active part in the life of her 11 year daughter.
The two men, BJ and Bob went to Cabo St Lucas in Mexico for treatment. Bob mentioned that after treatment he felt that he had a new birth. Balance, vision, speech all improved significantly, and the headaches disappeared.
Sandra Birrell was the last speaker and mentioned how her life became better after the significant stenosis was cleared in her jugular veins.
There were many questions from the audience regarding costs, logistics, and personal experiences. Everyone felt that the evening was worthwhile.
Many in the audience had dates arranged at various clinics around the world to be angioplastied and many others were keen to get treated.
The overall atmosphere was subdued optimism from a large crowd of people whose life to date has been one of suffering, pain and steady decline.
I personally learned a lot and am glad to have made the journey by float plane from Vancouver to Victoria. Flew home this morning.
Warm regards,
Steven
